In the wake of the global energy crisis, with the potential for the electric and thermal comforts of modern society to be reducted and cut off at times, it is best to rely on sustainable energy to get people by when it is most needed. The energy boost tower uses the whole building itself to generate power through thousands of vertical axis wind turbines, with a core generator that transforms kinetic to electric energy directing it to the collector substation and distribution substation making it readily available for use. The Energy boost tower is to be a helping hand to a city that is trying to save up energy without withholding city lighting and safe city traffic from its citizens.
Focus on wind energy transformation comes from the standing point that the famous Belgrade wind Košava, and its unique circulations at the specific location, is the key for the preservation of energetic stability. Particularly providing consistent and reliable lighting of the city and all traffic electrical signaling devices so that there is more power for all of the homes and public buildings. Also it will serve as a back-up for public health institutions in cases of failure of their own fossil fuel-based energy supplies. Expected to be a skyscraper-scale landmark structure of over 200 m tall, it will be exposed to strong winds all year, making use of this underutilized natural resource in Serbia.
Reducing CO2 emissions in the years to come, is a must and an international obligation, therefore studies such as "Global Assessment of Wind Energy Potential in Serbia" (СТУДИЈА НПЕЕ, евиденциони број ЕЕ704-1052А, Београд, Република Србија – Министарство заштите животне средине), point to important data in terms of how the concept of wind kinetic energy transformation will fit into the existing energy system. The energy boost tower, as a new landmark of Belgrade will represent awareness of clean energy needs, city potentials, and smart energy consumption.
The wind is the energy of sun, caused by the warming of the atmosphere from the sun, the rotation of the Earth and irregularities in the Earth's surface. It is clean and inexhaustible.
With this in mind, the outlined design objectives to create an urban windcatcher in the heart of the city, that will in its architectural appearance represent new age in energy generating and storing, to provide an electric current boost at disposal when needed.
Helical vertical wind turbines that would  be used, also known as Darrieus wind turbines, are most efficient of the vertical axis category. They don’t make noise, and do not pose a threath to birds and bats, unlike classical horizontal axis turbines, making them sutible for an urban context setting.
For this sustainable tower concept to be most efficient, use of AI systems will be necessary. The building itself will have a life of its own, controlled by AI, every single turbine will be autonomus and able to maximally produce energy regardless of wind speed, power and angle of attack in that particular instance. The AI system will be an active learning system from present wind influence through sensors and past climate patterns, thus adaptable to future changes with the heightened global warming dangers.
